Skills for Leadership in a Growing Field
Graduates of Northwestern University’s Master of Science in Predictive Analytics (MSPA) program enter a rapidly growing professional field armed with highly in-demand skills. Not only do our students acquire the technical expertise and knowledge required for all aspects of data analysis — they also develop the strategic, communication and people-management skills that position them for leadership roles in any number of industries and disciplines. What’s more, ours is the only program of its kind that allows students to complete all of their coursework online.
Organizations of all kinds are eagerly seeking new ways to leverage the large and ever-growing stores of high-quality data now available. Businesses and disciplines that rely heavily on data analytics include marketing, health care, finance and resources management. But industries of nearly every type are coming to appreciate the central role played by data analytics in effective decision-making at the highest organizational levels.
The MSPA program gives students a thorough grounding in advanced analytics, computer-based data mining, database management, financial analysis, predictive modeling, quantitative reasoning, web analytics and a host of other areas of study. Students learn from distinguished Northwestern faculty and from seasoned industry experts. Their instruction focuses on both conceptual and practical application, challenging students with concrete problem solving in specific industries. Additional courses in communication and leadership provide the skills students need to articulate the value and application of data-driven decision-making and communicate across disciplines.
